The Historic Root of the Political Power
of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea was founded in September 9, 1948. During the period of 60 years, it has developed and strengthened constantly, being esteemed and respected by the whole world. The anti-Japanese armed struggle of the Korean people against the foreign colonial rule was a bloody battle for the national liberation; for the independence of the country and for the achievement of the sovereignty of the working people. It was also a difficult stage under the conditions the Korean people did not receive any support by the regular army and by the state.

The President Kim Il Sung, who embarked early on the revolutionary struggle, was the promoter of the Juche concept. In order to constitute the revolutionary political power, he promoted the strategy of the army struggle under the form of guerrilla warfare. The establishment of the revolutionary political power was an urgent need for the consolidation of the newly built guerrilla base and for the assurance of the victory against the Japanese rule.

The first revolutionary people's government was founded at Si Shui Ping (China) at the beginning of 1930. After this important event, many democratic reforms, including the land reform were put in practice. It was created the pattern of people's power based on the valuable success and experience for the establishment of the political power.

Taking into consideration all the problems that arose in the building of the political power; President Kin Il Sung took all the necessary practical measures to consolidate the political power of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Due to the glorious struggle for the establishment of the political power; for the national liberation; the independence of the country and for the achievement of its sovereignty; after the liberation from the Japanese rule, the true state of the working people was founded in a short time and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has won victory after victory.

At present, the history of the building of the people's political power, created by President Kim Il Sung, is continued by His Excellency Kim Jong Il, has highly evolved on the road of glory and victory, not being defeated by the threats and tempests it faced during all these 60 years and it will continue to be an invincible socialist power.
