Songun – invincible banner of national mission
The Songun politics of North Korea is the main core of the national struggle against all forms of domination, aggression, and imperialist subjugation. At this moment the reactionary forces across the globe, but especially the USA and its Western allies are promoting the policy of force and intimidation in order to achieve their domination. In these moments it's necessary more than ever for the oppressed masses to embrace and apply the most advanced principles which are needed to ensure the nation’s freedom: the Songun principles.
The Songun ideas and Songun politics, which were created by President Kim Il Sung, sun of Juche in the 20th century, and have been enriched by leader Kim Jong Il, sun of mankind in the 21st century, are the main weapon for keeping the national independence and fight against imperialism. It is now clearer than ever, for everybody, that Songun politics are the banner for the oppressed masses around the world that is promoting dignity and sovereignty, integrity and prosperity they are the sword against injustice, plunder and aggression. All nations aspire for a prosperous life in a world without domination or war. Songun ideas are the light for these nations, in the darkness ruled by corruption and decadence.
The international community even though not showing this is admitting the fact that the doctrine “Army First” it's not only a victorious way of confrontation with the imperialist doctrine and even military capacities that are willing to block the development of a peaceful nation. Songun is a powerful weapon that is allowing the masses to create its own destiny. Songun is today more needed than ever, when the USA are promoting their own domination schemes by using a hypocritical and full of lies "democratic" rhetoric. However, a small country can survive and face the obstacles if the people believe in his destiny.
In this context, the biggest insurance of national sovereignty is represented by the military potential. The military power induces the masses the hope and certainty that the nation is proud and glorious, and has the power to face any kind of enemy, no matter how fierce. A strong army means that the nation can protect its ideology and destiny.
Songun politics is an independent one based on the Juche idea. The fundamental principle of the Juche idea is to defend and realize the independence of countries, nations and popular masses. These ideas are meant to solve the problems arising from revolution and construction of an independent society, and is giving a priority to the People’s Army as the main insurance of the success of revolution. The revolution for independence of people is accomplished by fierce confrontation of strength with counterrevolutionary force, and that’s why the victory or defeat in the fight depends on military power. The Songun politics makes it possible to strengthen the army as an invincible force so that it can deter the enemy from acting against the nation’s independence.
USA are openly promoting all forms of aggression under the pretext of “defending the democracy” and the so called “anti terror war”, and they will never accept negotiation or any other form of compromise. In this new created context, any dialog between pacifism and imperialism will imply automatically the war. This is the reason for which the DPR of Korea has set as a priority the military development. There are some preparations necessary to be made in order to avoid a confrontation, but if this will happen, the affected nation should be able to retaliate and to fight in dignity for the national freedom.
Every nation should manage its own military capacities in order to realize an efficient self defense, and to contribute for the global peace, and in case of a possible conflict, all of the destructive effects will spread across the region and upon its neighbors. So that’s why all nations should adopt a peaceful way and promote self defense.
The mankind ideal is to live a prosperous life, and that’s why Songun represents the insurance of the noblest aspirations, applied in Korea, for defending the national ideology, the people, and its resources, both natural and intellectual, against an imperialistic aggression. Under this banner were the Korean people victorious across their history, especially in the war against the bloody Japanese and the imperialistic Americans. Even the direction promoted by the Great Leader Kim Il Sung, the most visible and important figure from the history of global revolutionary movements of the 20th century, was based on Songun principles, that is to give priority to the army when it comes to self defense and resistance against any form of aggression.
During the Revolution against the Japanese occupant, there were voices which said that the independence of Korea could have been obtained with the help of an external intervention or with the help of a friendly state. But shortly after engaging into the battle, the Great Leader Kim Il Sung declared in June 1931 in a historical speech that “the most effective way to fight against the oppressors, is to organize the whole nation under one single army”.
May this great example be followed by other oppressed nations.
