The Strong National Tradition and Pride - the Guarantee for the Building of the Socialist Power

Although socialism in some countries was collapsed, DPRK has successfully constructed it. This is very impressive. Not only the people the world over but also US imperialists demanding its "end" and "surrender" want to know where is the source of might and invincibility of this country displaying its strength and single-hearted unity to stand all kinds of challenges and threats for 60 years. It is attributable to the great feats of Comrade Kim Il Sung, the founder of the Republic and general Kim Jong Il who led excellently this country standing against every challenge of the history. Now DPRK is preparing to celebrate its 60th founding anniversary. We all know well that thanks to the Juche- based Songun theory and practice, its national sovereignty has been thoroughly defended. It is the might of this country.

1. The Little Estimate on the National Factor of Some Countries and its Aftermath

Now we have the rich theoretical assets which were created and handed down by President Kim IL Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. They analysed the lesson that we should take in the minor errors committed by some countries in the course of building socialism. In particular Kim Jong IL in his work named "The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and The General Line of Our Party" mentioned the other factors as well as the forced policy enforced by the big country's party toward the small country's ones. Some of its forced policies which were not emancipated from the tradition of the centralism existed in the beginning of the 20th century gave the great harmful influence to the development of the international communist movement.

 

Kim Jong Il said that a certain party regarded itself as a "centre" in the international communist movement and commanded other parties that you had to do this or that. Furthermore it put pressure upon them and interfered in their internal affairs unless they did follow its instruction.

 

As a result ideological unity and comradely cooperative relation of the small parties were weakened and they could not stand with imperialists with their united strength. As they followed and subjugated to the big power, they could not maintain independence. When the big power did do revisionism, small countries did do it as it did and when the big power did do the "reform" and "restructuring", they followed it.

 

Thus the grave situation was produced and the socialism in these countries was successively collapsed. As we know, due to the big power's behaviour and the complete subjugation of the politicians of small countries to the foreign "centre", revolution in these countries was conducted deviating from intrinsic nature of their country and the people and failed to create the integral whole with the people. And they lost their independence in the internal and external activities. Independence is the life of the country and the nation. Socialism and communism should be built by the national government as the unit and every country and people should take the responsibility to carry out revolution by themselves. Kim Jong Il insisted on the national and international principle and the equality of the mutual relations. He said that socialism was the national cause of the people in every country as well as the international one.

 

The formalists, dogmatically analysed the concept of Marxism "For the Proletariat There Is Not Its Motherland" neglected their national heritage. They regarded the demonstration of the national pride as the reactionary behaviour and at least anachronistic and thought that it was not compatible with the Marxism on the development of the society. They regarded that socialism and communism was a very high stage to build by themselves the society to be able to pass through the difficult road of the evolution of the productive capacity and the development of the productive relation until the effective working class, the main force of the socialist revolution, embark in the history.

It is unsurprising that Marx paid attention to what the bourgeois had a big concern in their enrichment and surplus profit instead of the interest of the patriotic feeling and the people of the respective country.

And the elimination of the national characteristics of the country caused serious mistake in the construction of the national economy, for example, they mechanically moved the experience of one country to another which was entirely not met to their situation.

On the other hand, popular masses didn't recognize the parties infected with revisionism and dogmatism as personifier of the national benefit of the respective countries so as to makes themselves divorced from the revolution.
The leaders of the countries who had refused the national things lost the direction where to go as the time went by and legally entered the way of betraying the revolution.

If one lost national identity, it could be weak in front of the dogmatism and formalism and gradually became the victim of the ideological doctrine of the domination, especially the neo-colonialism and the "humanitarian democracy", the bourgeois doctrine, engrossing in the pressure and opened aggressive policies against the movement of the national liberation.

Actually, the socialist countries, non-aliened countries, participants to the national liberation war and the anti aggression and anti racism fighters are taking the lead in the struggle for the independence and for opposing the domination and urging of the US who is self calling her as "super power".
The most serious tense area is Korean peninsular where the DPRK has been defending the independence amid the constant aggressive threat of the strong enemy over a half century.

 

 

2. Why didn't the DPRK become the satellite country to a certain big country like other east European countries?

Firstly, because the DPRK has held fast the line of establishing the Juche in every fields of the socio-political lives since the declaration of foundation of the republic in 1948.

Comrade Kim Il Sung gave answer to the flunkies following the other's experience blindly that if a man follows flunkeyism, he becomes fool, if a nation follows it, it destroys a country and if party follows flunkeyism, it makes a mess of the revolution and the construction.

In some countries they surrendered to the big nation so as to be resulted the socialism frustrated in a halfway. This reality proved the words of the comrade Kim Il Sung offered no room for argument.

Five thousand years long history of the Korean people is the history of totally eliminating the dogma existed in early period of the Korean revolution.

General Kim Il Sung already understood its dangerousness in time in the period of the anti Japanese Partisan struggle and issued the work titled "the Korean revolutionaries should know well the Korea" which gave full answer to the vague attempts.

In his work, he pointed that the construction of the communism didn't mean the rejection of the nationality. Moreover, comrade Kim Il Sung paid attention even to the nationalists who then doubted the underground movement of the communism in Korea from their own limitation, and made them to join in the revolution.

The WPK and the government of the DPRK are paying attention constantly to uphold not only the independence but also its national characteristics of the Korean nation.

The maintenance and development of the national tradition, display of the past historical things and the restoration of the Tomb of king Dangun, all of these made entire Korean people to regard the DPRK as their true motherland.

The occupation of the South Korea by the US imperialists and the establishment of the capitalist system in S.K were the reason why the different social systems were to be set up in North and South Korea. The only way of uniting the North and South Koreans is just the national emotion and feeling as a member of the homogeneous nation.

The Grand National Unity of the whole nation instead of absorbing other social system was the principle put forwarded by the president Kim Il Sung which should be settled down primarily for the national reunification.

It is because the national patriotism is an essential factor enables all the peoples living in north and south of the Korean peninsula to be united.

If the DPRK denied the socialist history and culture like what some of the countries did, it should have produced many complications in the course of the development of the reunification. But fortunately, it didn't happen.

Contrary, South Korean authorities who visited Pyongyang were surprised at what the national tradition was well maintained in North Korea.

President Kim Il Sung and his successor marshal Kim Jung Il, chairman of the National Defense Commission of the DPRK led the Korean revolution along with the way of Juche without definitely repeating the mistakes committed by other countries.

They solved the problems of the Korean revolution in a creative way according to the specific conditions of the country and the desire of the popular masses.
The leaders of the DPRK eliminated the sprout of flunkeyism and dogmatism in the country laying the principles of the Juche in ideology, independence in politics, self-sufficiency in economy and self-reliance in defense as the bedrock of the State building.

The most exact and serious verification in the historical development of the country is the one by the time.

On this point of view, we know that the DPRK walked only the way of strengthening its power during the 60 years after its foundation and became a powerful country with the nuclear weapon.

In his work "To preserve the spirit of Juche and nationality in the revolution and the construction", Comrade Kim Jong Il said as follows of the superiority of the Korean styled socialism.

"The socialism in our country is advancing the road of victory with its immortal vitality and force and is giving full play of its force of traction in carrying out the cause of independence of the humankind by harmoniously combining the love to the people, love to the country and the nation independence of the people and the state."

 

The policy enforced in the DPRK for safeguarding the sovereignty and realizing the independence of the Korean nation is nothing without Songun.
It is difficult to defy a formidable enemy like the US only with strong weapons.
In order to do this, the whole society must be armed with the Songun ideology.
The KPA is united as one with the people and the people armed themselves with the spirit of the army in the struggle for the powerful nation.
The KPA is ready to fight against the technical superiority and the military equipment of US imperialist by the high political and ideological superiority of "Ildangbaek". (a-match-for-a-hundred)

The history (including Korean peninsula) witnessed a lot of examples of victories of armies that won the enemies with high spirit of combat though they were weak in numbers and techniques.

 

For example, it is well known that in the Termopile battle in B.C 5 century, the Spartans headed by Leonid, with their small number of people, crushed the Persians leaded by Kserkus.

In the 20th century, the Koreans and the Vietnamese drove out the US aggressors and the ex-USSR beaten off the German that was occupying most of European countries.

What was the secret of it?

 

It was because peoples of these countries fought for their national liberation on their lands and for defending their social system selected by themselves. It was a demonstration of the ideological superiority in comparison to the aggressors' calculation that they could win with huge armed forces and modern technology. These countries defended their dignity as well as the social system selected by themselves.

Through this truth, the history proved that the army in the era of Songun who personified the noble spirit and morality, which enables them to defend the revolutionary achievement, national dignity and honor, is eternally invincible.
As long as the KPA is reliably defending the DPRK under the leadership of the marshal Kim Jung Il, chairman of the National Defense Commission of the DPRK, it is guaranteed the shining future.
