SONGUN KOREA -
THE NATION OF KIM IL SUNG AND KIM JONG IL

 

In this significant year Juche 97 (2008) the Korean people will celebrate the 60th anniversary of founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

September 9, Juche 37 (1948) is one of the most glorious dates in Korea's five-thousand year old history. It marks the rebirth of the Korean nation after centuries of national humiliation and mysery. The first independent and sovereign state of the entire Korean people - the DPRK - was founded! Three years before, the great Leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung has liberated, on the helm of the heroic Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) founded by him in April Juche 21 (1932), the nation from the brutal colonial rule of Japanese imperialism.

>From his early youth, the great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung guided his compatriots in their armed struggle for national liberation under the banner of the great and immortal Juche Idea, which he has created in Juche 19 (1930). With the beginning of the armed struggle and the foundation of the KPRA in April Juche 21 (1932), Comrade Kim Il Sung led the base of the great Songun Idea and philosophy, the Idea of the priority of arms and the revolutionary armed forces as the pillar of the revolution. Guided by the Juche-based Songun Idea, Comrade Kim Il Sung took the Korean revolution to victory and liberated the country. The Mt. Paektu-type great General, sent by Heaven, brought freedom and independence to the Korean people. The new democratic Korea, built by President Kim Il Sung after liberation, created the condition for founding of the DPRK.

Only a great man can build and lead a great nation. And so the DPRK became the dignified country of the entire Korean people. Under the wise and noble leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Leader Kim Jong Il, socialist Korea developed into a truly people's paradise on earth, the only one in the world. The President's life-long credo - "The people are my God!" - continued by Comrade Kim Jong Il, is the fundamental principle for the politics of virtue followed by the Workers' Party of Korea. Korea's people-centered socialism is the great illuminating mode of an independent and dignified life for the popular masses and an example for all progressive people on the world. The Korean-style socialism, founded and guided by the great and outstanding Leaders and people's fathers Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, demonstrates the absolute superiority of socialism to the whole mankind. The DPRK is the unique and single tax-free country of the world - an ideal of what people in the rotten and corrupt capitalist society can dream only. For that reason, the DPRK withstood all storms and trials of history.

The US imperialists who have divided the Korean nation and occupied its southern part, launched an all-out aggression war against the young DPRK and the Korean people in 1950. Guided by the great Marshal Kim Il Sung, the all-triumphant, resolute and incomparable supreme-commander and outstanding military strategist, the Korean people and the Korean People's Army (KPA) fought the Fatherland Liberation War and won a brillant victory over the US imperialist's aggression. The first time in history the United States were forced to end a war without victory. The historic great triumph of Korea's Fatherland Liberation War made of the DPRK an example to follow by all people who fight against imperialist aggression, tyranny and humiliation.

Also the collapse of socialism in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union could not do any harm or damage to the DPRK. Shortly after these dramatic events, the DPRK and the Korean people had to bear the most sad and greatest loss, the sudden demise of the great Leader President Kim Il Sung. The Korean people, single-heartedly united around Leader Kim Jong Il, transformed its deep sorrow and grief into force and defended with dignity its people-centered socialism and the fatherland against all kind of attacks, blackmail and subversion plots by the imperialists and anti-socialist reactionary forces.

General Kim Jong Il made of Songun politics the only political mode of the country. Under his energetic leadership and supreme command, he made of the KPA an invincible fortress and bulwark. Stronger than ever before, socialist Korea smashed all war plots and provocations by the US-led imperialist allied forces and preserved peace on the Korean peninsula. Songun politics is the treasured sword of defense of the Korean nation and of peace and stability on and around the Korean peninsula and of world peace.

Thanks to General Kim Jong Il's Songun politics and leadership, the Korean people made a historic leap on the way to achieve national reunification. The Three Charters of Reunification - authored by President Kim Il Sung and developed and loyally continued by General Secretary Kim Jong Il - laid the base for two historic inter-Korean summit meetings and found their way into the North-South Joint Declaration of June 15 (2000) and the "Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity" of October 4, 2007. The historic June 15 era of reunification under the patriotic banner of "By our nation itself" was born. The way towards national reunification is now irreversible!

In the past six decades since its founding, the DPRK developed itself into a rock-firm and invincible dignified nation. Thanks to the great Songun politics and leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il the DPRK could never be occupied or stifled by the imperialists and reactionaries. And despite the temporary economic hardships due to the collapse od socialism in some countries, natural disasters and the enemy's embargo and sanctions, the DPRK will resist victoriously to all these challenges and build a great, prosperous and powerful country without fail.
The 60-year old history of the DPRK has proved that a nation and people who are guided by great and outstanding leaders who consider the people as God and Heaven and love the people wholeheartedly, can never be defeated.

Songun Korea is the proud nation of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il! It will greet the 60th anniversary of its founding with the victorious fulfillment of the goals set in this historic year's Joint New Year Editorial "Glorify This Year of the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the DPRK as a Year of Historical Turn Which Will Go Down in the History of the Country".

Glory to the great DPRK, the Juche and Songun nation of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il !
