Struggle to Repeal the NSL, an Evil
Anti-reunification Law
The south Korean
security authorities are getting more frantic in recent days in suppressing
those who praise and follow north Korea and patriots championing independent
reunification in alliance with the north.
After arresting Ryu
Son-min, chairman of the 15th term South Korean Federation of
University Student Councils on January 15 on charges of having violated the
notorious “National Security Law”(NSL), the security authorities took away Song
Hyun-a, propaganda chairwoman of the Solidarity for Realizing the June 15
South-North Joint Declaration.
Such
atrocities of the security authorities are the overall suppression of the
organizations which have actively struggled for the national reunification, and
an anti-reunification act denying the June 15 joint declaration and the October
4 declaration.
Therefore, today the
south Korean people from all walks of life are bitterly denouncing the fascist
forces which are running amuck in the anachronistic suppression of ideology and
reunification movement wielding the NSL, and waging dynamically to abolish the
evil law.
About 80 youth and
student organizations including several regional federations affiliated to the
South Korean Federation of University Student Councils and the Youth and
Student Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration stated that
the foremost task in developing the reunification-oriented relations between
south and north Korea is the repeal of the NSL.
They stressed that
they would valiantly wage the struggle to ostracize the anti-reunification and
confrontational maniacs who deny and dishonor the October 4 declaration.
Members of civic
organizations including the Solidarity for Reunification, the South
Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country’s Reunification, the
People for Peace and Reunification asserted that without removing the legal and
systematic mechanisms the June 15 reunification era cannot be ensured.
They claimed that the
NSL which defines the fellow countrymen in the north as enemy and suppresses
patriotic personages struggling for reunification, should be abolished
immediately, and asserted that they would dynamically struggle to repeal the
NSL.
The abolition of the
NSL is a historic assignment that brooks no delay in our times advancing toward
independent reunification, peace and prosperity.
The AINDF and
patriotic people in south Korea will more dynamically conduct the struggle to
abolish the NSL, an anti-democratic and anti-reunification evil law that stems
the advance of the June 15 reunification era and instigates inter-Korean
confrontation.
